At first I was confused by the pavement, and then I realized it was the end of the puddle. The yellow line painted on the asphalt that is barely visible in the upper part of the image through the reflection, and the asphalt itself showing up in the bottom part anchors the image to reality. They reveal the reflection for what it is, and doing so they enhance the effect making it stronger.
