Photo Friday: Tiny

When Birds Go Grocery Shopping
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Canon 20D, Canon 100-400L IS @400 mm f/5.6 1/200

In the winter, seeds and berries are often scarce, and birds
may be forced to seek out alternative food sources.

Brilliant wildlife shot. Have to be one of the best bird shots I've seen in ages.

I hate when birds go through the express lane with more than 10 items.

What a wonderful shot! This is one of those shots where I'm curious to know what the scene looked like (not so cropped in). How many birds were there?

True, but I've found it's so hard to push the cart with both feet perched on the handle. I love this shot.

Sweet and funny, they are really going grocery shopping! Very effective choice of crop!

Thanks for the comments, everyone! In response to Ted's question about cropping, I didn't crop this one much; I only removed a bit of dead space on the left. There weren't any other birds perched on the carts when I took the photo.

Sorry to be so late on the bandwagon, but I had to comment on this shot. The depth of field, composition, color -- all perfect. This is one of those images that grabs ahold of you and stays with you, too. Love, love, love it. Excellent work!
