Photo Friday: Distorted

Discord & Harmony

Canon 20D Tamron 90mm macro f/16 1/6

This image was made by placing two forks with tines
crossed on a light box, and positioning the convex
surface of an ice cream scoop above them to create
the distorted reflection in which the tines curve and
unite.

No doubt, you are one of the most talented photographers I have seen on this site and your images mesmerize me with every new posting. I wish I had just a wee bit of your gifted talent. I must add that your images inspire me, and I find myself trying to be more creative in my work also.

Whoa, this be craziness.

Seriously, if you and Chiaroscuro ever find yourselves booted out of academia for some reason, you should have no problem getting jobs as graphic designers. Awesome photos, you two :)

Turning such everyday objects into sculpture is not easy! I enjoy watching the progression of work with spoons and forks, this is the best.

A agree, this is the best fork shot yet (although I must say I was getting a little bored with them). It's hard to imagine how you even positioned everything to make it work. You are one dedicated fork-shooting photographer.

My favorite of all the silverware is this top one. All of the relfective qualities are effective, and the tone is perfect. Nice shot.

Yes, the best of your utensils series. Very creative idea, and very good choice of light, contrast and perspective (could be a sci-fi scene if for a moment you believe the reflection below to be a mysterious planet).
