Wonderful shot. La Jolla is one of my favourite places, and the beach there is great. We used to live in Southern CA and were members of the zoo, so once a month we would go down and visit and always have dinner in La Jolla on the way home.
Beautiful! I like the color of the sky and the position of the pelican.

I was in La Jolla on Thursday and the beach is very inspiring. I saw many of these pelicans on the rocks and tried to get some silhouette like this (I'll post some later), but your image is better than what I got in its bicolor simplicity.
This is s asimply stunning shot which has been perfectly executed - well done!
Aw, VF, you make it look so easy. I'm telling you, I just couldn't wrap my camera around this one. I wish I had looked at yours first. I'd have been inspired to do a better job!
