Onion Abstract
Canon 20D, Tamron 90 mm macro, f/16 1 sec
This is the second of my three favorite images for our photography
group's assignment of shooting an onion. The group met tonight
to discuss our results. Everyone else had great images, and I hope
they'll post some of them.
We met at VisuallyMinded's place, and I had the opportunity to
meet her dog Ginger, who is every bit as cute as she appears in
VM's photos, and also very fun and energetic. I took a few pictures
but haven't looked at them yet.

Hey, I like this photo. I've never been good at abstract, and this is a good example. I like yesterday's photo even better, though. There's something about it ... the organic nature of the onion and the mechanic nature of the knife, maybe. Or the tension between round and warm and straight and cold. Anyway, it works.
I think the interesting thing about this is going to see how everyone produces different images from a simple assignment. I posted my contribution today.

LOVE IT! Very well-done abstract macro... the texture and line is absolutely wonderful. And the combination of color is so interesting and beautiful. charlie - alwayscurious.com

First of all: we do love red onions! Then, this macro is fantastic, the skin of it is perfect.

If it wasn't for the onion layers on the top right I would have never guessed the subject. The texture of the skin on the right is almost like fabric, and the bottom green is quite unexpected. Nice interpretation of the subject.
