Gull on Copper

Canon Digital Rebel, Canon 100-400 L IS @250mm f/5.6 1/800

I've just about reached the end of my images from the Baltimore harbor the weekend before last. I liked the colors on this one -- the gull is lit by the rays of the late afternoon sun, which also creates colorful reflections on the water.

I haven't been satisified with many of the shots I've taken since the harbor visit, so I'd better get out there and take some more. If only it weren't so cold.

This is a great capture, very sharp but still soft and smooth, looks like I could reach out and stroke the feathers. Very well lit too.

Same for me: no decent shot for the past few days and the weather is not really helpful...

Wow.
That's an amazing shot. Very crisp and very good control of the light here...

I agree, the light is very warm and soft. I like how it reflects on the copper.
